Terms and Conditions
Below you will find the various terms and conditions we have for all of our guided adventures…please feel free to Contact Us with any questions you may have.
Confirmation
Upon making a reservation you will receive an e-mail confirmation. Please verify that the activities/dates listed match your plans (only the first date of multi-day activities is listed). If you have made reservations for others, it is very important that you provide each member of your party with a copy of this letter and all attachments. If you prefer, you can contact us with addresses and we will send packets to each member of your party.
Check In
It is very important that you call the 3-2 days prior to your first activity to reconfirm all dates, locations and times. I will ask you where you will be staying while in the Breckenridge area and for a local phone number if available. We will also tell you about current conditions and answer any last minute questions you may have.
Preparation
You must be in good physical condition to get the most out of your experience. Climbing the is a physically demanding endeavor and we recommend a training program consisting of any aerobic activity such as uphill walking, climbing up and down stairs, hiking and biking. If you have access to weight training equipment, leg presses, extensions and curls are a great way to strengthen your quadriceps and hamstrings. We don’t want you to be disappointed so please be prepared.
Transportation
Public transportation to and from our outings is your responsibility. We can assure that you will have a great time once you arrive for your activities, however SPAG guides can arrange all ground transportation if need be.
What to Bring
SPAG will provide all technical equipment (harness, helmet and ropes). You must provide all personal equipment, appropriate shoes (these can be rented at local stores or SPAG will make arrangements for you), and clothing and food. Please review the enclosed equipment list carefully. It is imperative that you bring ALL items listed as essential for the activities you have planned. Weather on the high peaks and desert heat may be extremely variable with thunderstorms, wind, rain and possibly snow. You must have clothing that can be layered and that keeps you warm and dry. Your safety, enjoyment and success depend on your having the correct clothing and equipment.
Arrival
You will meet at the designated location for your scheduled activity. SPAG will pay all park entrance fees. It is very important that you arrive on time so please allow enough time for travel from wherever you are staying. Once you arrive and meet your guide you will be required to sign a Release and/or an Acknowledgement of Risk form. It is important that you read and consider it carefully before signing. A parent must sign the form for anyone under 18, so if you are bringing a minor that is not your child, you must arrange for the form/s to be signed prior to your arrival (please call the office for additional information).
Billing
The balance due for your instruction and/or climbs will be collected no later than the day of your last scheduled activity. Mountain bike trips fees will be collected as outlined in trip description. The appropriate amount from your total deposit will be applied to your activity. Please keep in mind that if at any point during your activities you decide not to continue, the remainder of your deposit will be forfeited. We accept checks and cash. We arrange groups on outings according to your abilities and based on conditions in the mountains and desert. When you come with your own party, we will do everything possible to group you as you wish. Again, based on safety, we will make all decisions regarding the actual groups and in rare cases we may need to split up your party. Your total cost will depend on how the groups are arranged regardless of the number in your party. There will be no adjustments to the amount billed when groups are rearranged during the climb (this may happen in bad conditions or when safety is a concern).
Deposits Required
$50% per person for all mountain bike trips
$50% for all multi-day climbs
$100% for all EMS, and climbing classes.
Cancellations
Once your reservation has been processed, you will receive 100% refund 30 day prior to departure. Cancellations with less than 30 days notice will be charged a $200 cancellation fee per person. If you cancel your scheduled activity with 15 days or less notice your entire deposit will be forfeited. We strongly recommend that you obtain trip insurance as there will be no exceptions to this policy regardless of the reason for cancellation. Travel Guard is one company that can provide such coverage. If you do not notify us and simply do not show up for an activity, you will forfeit your entire deposit.
Medical Conditions
